Disclosed are a method for transmitting confidential data of various application services using an external security device and an external security device for the same. The method for transmitting confidential data of various application services using an external security device comprises the following steps: a first external security device connected to a first application service terminal and a second external security device connected to a second application service terminal authenticate each other; the first external security device and the second external security device share keys after the mutual authentication; the first external security device encrypts confidential data based on the keys to transmit an encryption packet to the first application service terminal; the first application service terminal converts the encryption packet into an internet packet to transmit the internet packet to the second application service terminal via the internet network; the second application service terminal converts the internet packet into an encryption packet to transmit the encryption packet to the second external security device; and the second external security device decrypts the encryption packet based on the keys to restore the confidential data.
