The present invention relates to a chair with a vertically rotatable backrest. The present invention has a rotary coupling unit (200) enabling a backrest (120) to be vertically rotated by a predetermined angle on a support frame (180) in accordance with pressure applied to the backrest (120) in the chair (100) wherein a seat (110) and the backrest (120) are installed on the support frame (130) forming an overall framework, respectively. The present invention comprises: a fastening unit (171) where a coupling unit (121) having an inner coupling groove (122) is integrally protruding toward both side surfaces of a back surface of the backrest (120) and an insertion groove (172) is formed in one end to be inserted and coupled to the coupling groove of the coupling unit to be penetrated by and coupled to a hinge bolt (190); and a rotary coupling member (170) inserted into an upper end of the support frame (130) through an insertion end (170a) formed on the other end. According to the present invention, the rotary coupling unit (200) comprises a spring type spring member (180) having a rhombic pillar shape, wherein a winding surface of one end of a spring is wide and a winding surface of the other end of the spring is narrow, inserted between the coupling unit (121) and the fastening unit (171). |
