In a means for cooling ball or roller bearings, a sleeve 7 abuts a side face of a race 5 and is spaced from a housing 2 to form an annular passage 9 for cooling liquid which enters through an inlet 10 in the housing 2 and leaves through an outlet 11 therein. The sleeve 7 has screws 8 therein, which effect spacing from said housing 2, and has holes 13 therein which allow lubrication of the balls &c. In an embodiment two ball bearings 3 are mounted in a housing 2 and are spaced apart by a ring 6 which abuts the inner races 4 and by the ring 7 which abuts the outer races 5. The coolant passage 9 is provided between the side faces of the outer races 5. the housing 2, and the ring 7. |
