930,949. Control of D.C. motors. POTTER INSTRUMENT CO. Inc. Feb. 22, 1962 [March 1, 1961], No. 6971/62. Class 38 (3). [Also in Groups XXXV and XL (c)] In a circuit in which a load for example a D.C. electric motor, is supplied from an A.C. source 18 through a silicon-controlled rectifier 1 controlled by a circuit 24, a parallel circuit of inductor 11 and resistor 12 is included in series with the rectifier 1 and a capacitor 19 shunts this combination. The arrangement modifies the steep rise of current on switching on and hence reduces noise. The motor includes series field winding 8 and is shunted by a reverse diode 13 to by-pass reverse surges.
|
