PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for treating a patient that has suffered combined exposure to total body ionizing irradiation and burns.SOLUTION: A method for treating a patient that has suffered combined (i) exposure to total body ionizing irradiation and (ii) burns comprises administering to the patient an amount effective to treat the radiation effects and/or the burns of a peptide comprising at least 5 amino acids of a peptide of SEQ ID NO:1 (Asp-Arg-Nle-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro), or a pharmaceutical salt thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
