1. A source container for a pharmaceutical compounding system having automated micro-dosing capability, comprising:
a housing containing a solid-form drug substance; means for allowing increments of said drug substance to be dispensed from said housing by a pharmaceutical compounding system, such that said increments can have masses sufficiently low as to render use of any bulking agent or liquid solvent unnecessary for attaining a medically-acceptable dosing precision of said substance in dispensing unit doses of the substance for custom drug products; and a connecting portion configured for reversibly securing the container to said pharmaceutical compounding system, such that the container is exchangeable for another container to be used with said system, thereby facilitating use of the system to produce different drug products for respective patients; wherein the container is part of a set of multiple source containers configured for compounding with said system, whereby each container houses a different respective drug substance and is designed for use with the same compounding system. |
