The invention relates to a method for the remote control of at least one peripheral (1) connected to an Internet access box (2), the Internet access box (2) being connected to the Internet network (21) via an operator network (20), the method comprising the implementation of the following steps: a) data describing a scenario of use of the peripheral (1) is inputted on a user interface of equipment (3) connected to the Internet network (21); b) a scenario-processing server (5) located in the operator network (20) generates a file of instructions for the control of the peripheral (1) on the basis of the data describing the scenario of use of said peripheral (1); c) a peripheral management server (4) also located in the operator network (20) compiles said file of control instructions into a binary file; and d) said binary file is instantiated on the Internet access box (2) with a view to being run in order to control the peripheral (1) in accordance with the scenario of use of said peripheral (1).
