The present invention provides a resonant ignition circuit for a high-intensity discharge lamp capable of preventing overvoltage of an input side using a clamping circuit and reducing the voltage applied to an output side at the time of resonance by half. According to the present invention, the resonant ignition circuit for a high-intensity discharge lamp includes: a DC power supply (110); a half bridge inverter unit (120) which connects an up switch and a down switch serially-connected to each other to the DC power supply (110), and converts the DC power applied from the DC power supply (110) to output spherical pulses; an LC resonance unit (130) which is connected to a central tab of the half bridge inverter unit (120), and converts the spherical pulses outputted from the half bridge inverter unit (120) into sine waves with a certain amplitude; a transformer (150) which is placed between a resonance reactor (Lr) and a resonance capacitor (Cr) of the LC resonance unit (130); and a clamp circuit unit (170) which is combined to the half bridge inverter unit in inverse-parallel while the resonance reactor is placed therebetween, and clamps a first voltage of the transformer into the half of the DC power. |
