[Problem] To provide an airbag apparatus that can restrain an occupant in a stable position even during an oblique collision and can minimize the level of injury to the occupant. [Solution] This airbag apparatus (100) restrains an occupant (132) seated on a passenger seat (104) of a vehicle. The airbag apparatus (100) is provided with: a bag-shaped main bag (112) that expands and deploys in front of the passenger seat; a bag-shaped center bag (114) that expands and deploys on the inward side of the main bag (112) in the width direction of the vehicle; and a slit (128) whereat the main bag (112) and the center bag (114) are separated on the side toward the rear of the vehicle. A rear end portion (160) of the center bag (114) tilts so as to gradually protrude to the rear of the vehicle as it extends upward, said rear end portion (160) protruding further to the rear of the vehicle than at least the main bag (112).
