Provided is a hydraulic shovel in which a decrease in weight of a counterweight can be minimized and exhaust treatment devices can be appropriately disposed. First and second exhaust treatment devices (12, 14) for treating exhaust gas from an engine are arranged in the sequence of the second exhaust treatment device (14) and the first exhaust treatment device (12) from the lateral center to an edge. The trailing edge (12e) of the first exhaust treatment device (12) is disposed further forward than the trailing edge (14e) of the second exhaust treatment device (14). The counterweight (5) has, on the inner peripheral surface thereof, a second surface portion (52) located on the lateral center side in plan view and a fourth surface portion (54), located on the edge side in plan view. The fourth surface portion (54) protrudes further forward than the second surface portion (52), and a step part (56) is formed between the second surface portion (52) and the fourth surface portion (54). |
