Provided is a polarizing plate having excellent appearance. A polarizing plate according to the present invention comprises: a polarizing film (10) having a thickness of 10 μm or less; and a protective layer (21 (22)) that is provided on at least one surface of the polarizing film (10) with an adhesive layer (31 (32)) being interposed therebetween. The adhesive layer (31 (32)) has a thickness of 0.7 μm or more, and has a bulk water absorption of 10% by weight or less.
