The present invention relates to an environmentally friendly functional ceramic ball, which maximizes porosity by mixing sawdust and an environmentally friendly porous raw material with natural kaolin which is advantageous to a human body, and to a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of the environmentally friendly functional ceramic ball includes the steps of: mixing sawdust crushed by a 50-150 mesh with a ceramic composite containing 10-30 volume% of kaolin; 15-20 volume% of illite, 20-25 volume% of zeolite, 10-20 volume% of elvan, 15-20 volume% of bentonite, and 20-40 volume% of pearlite; and burning the sawdust contained in the ceramic ball by raising the temperature of a furnace by 1°C per minute and performing plasticity at 700-1200°C for 12-18 hours. The environmentally friendly functional ceramic ball has an excellent forcing function for plants, a humidity control function, an indoor odour removing function, a far-infrared radiation function, and a purification function for various kinds of water such as drinking water, sewage, and fishbowl water. Also, the environmentally friendly functional ceramic ball naturally provides an environmentally friendly living environment and enhances health for people by providing an environment good for growth and development of microorganism. |
