STEERING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND PORTABLE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL FOR THE SAME

The present invention provides a steering assistance system and a portable communication terminal for the same, the steering assistance system capable of guiding parking and exiting of a vehicle using a vehicle diagnosis module (e.g. an on-board diagnostic (OBD)) allowing observation of data generated in the vehicle, a distance measurement sensor measuring a distance, and the portable communication terminal. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the steering assistance system assisting parking and exiting of the vehicle comprises: at least one distance measurement sensor; the vehicle diagnosis module; and the portable communication terminal. The distance measuring sensor is installed on the vehicle and measures and transmits the distance from the vehicle to an obstacle. The vehicle diagnosis module is installed on the vehicle and transmits steering information of the vehicle. The portable communication terminal is linked with route guidance of a navigation to display steering assistance information on one of parking and exiting of the vehicle using the distance information transmitted from the distance measurement sensor and the steering information transmitted from the vehicle diagnosis module.
