The invention relates to the problem of providing a method which is suitably sensitive and allows the evaluation of the immediate allergic reaction to pyrazolones. To remedy this problem, the authors of the present invention have discovered how, surprisingly, using an allergen of formula (I) in a basophil activation test (BAT) allows the immediate allergic reaction to pyrazolones to be evaluated with a high degree of sensitivity.
