An image pickup device is provided with: an optical system for forming a subject image; an image pickup element for performing photoelectric conversion on the subject image formed by the optical system; a drive unit for performing the translational movement and rotational movement of the image pickup element or the translational movement of an image blur correction lens included in the optical system and the rotational movement of the image pickup element; a first angular velocity detection unit for detecting a rotational angular velocity using the optical axis direction of the optical system as a rotation axis; and an image blur correction control unit for, on the basis of the rotational angular velocity detected by the first angular velocity detection unit, the optical center position of the optical system, and the rotational center position of the image pickup element, controlling the drive unit such that image blur is corrected. |
