The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for testing the potential for developing a mood disorder, said method having high diagnostic accuracy. In order to achieve said primary purpose, this method for testing the potential for developing a mood disorder is characterized by including: a measurement step in which the methylation of cytosine at at least one site selected from the group consisting of (a) and (b) in a biological sample of a subject is measured; and a test step in which the potential for developing a mood disorder is tested, by comparing the measured methylation of the cytosine to a reference value. (a) A site specified by (1)-(506) and (507) Genome Research Consortium human genome build 37/UCSC human genome 19 (GRCh37/Hg19) coordinates;(b) A site specified by (600)-(646) and (647) GRCh37/Hg19 coordinates. |
