Provided are a method and device for assembly of a spring for a slider with which the person-hours in the installation of a spring for a slider are reduced, efficiency in the assembly of the slider is improved, and efficient manufacture with reliable quality is made possible. An end part of a long and narrow sheet spring member (52) for forming a spring (15) for a slider is retained with a pair of sheet spring retaining members (44a, 44b), and is sheared to a prescribed length of the spring (15) for the slider by a punch (50) and a die (54). With the sheared spring (15) for the slider clamped between the pair of sheet spring retaining members (44a, 44b), the sheared spring (15) for the slider is moved further in the movement direction of the shearing action of the punch (50). The spring (15) for the slider has engagement depression parts (15a, 15b) formed in both end parts as a result of the shearing, and by the movement of the punch (50), the engagement depression parts (15a, 15b) are fitted with column parts (20, 21) which are disposed upon a main body part (12), and the spring (15) for the slider is attached to the main body part (12). |
