In a Banbury type mixer the discharge door 18 is pivoted at 20 and is opened and closed by a double-acting fluid-pressure cylinder 37 acting through toggle levers 24, 27. The lever 24 has an extension 43 which may abut a stop 44 to prevent the toggle mechanism passing the dead centre position and thus releasing pressure on the discharge door. The pivot 28 is carried in a bearing block 29 which may be adjusted by screws 35 to maintain a clearance between the surfaces 43a, 44a. The ram 37 may be replaced by means arranged to rotate the shaft 28.</p> |
