This reproduction device is equipped with: an attribute reading unit which reads first attribute information from a management information file that is recorded on a recording medium in association with a video stream, said first attribute information indicating whether the dynamic range of brightness of the video stream is a first dynamic range or a second dynamic range; a decoding unit which generates decoded video information by reading the video stream from the recording medium and decoding the video stream; and an output unit which, when the read first attribute information indicates the second dynamic range, outputs the decoded video information together with maximum brightness information that indicates the maximum brightness of the video stream corresponding to the second dynamic range.
