摘要 [Problem] To provide an input device that is capable of obtaining data representing a two-dimensional distribution of the electrostatic capacitance on an operation surface, while reducing the number of electrodes for detecting changes in the electrostatic capacitance in accordance with the approach of an object with respect to the operation surface. [Solution] Electrodes (E1-En) in a sensor unit (10) are arranged on an operation surface in a number fewer than the number of segments (A1-Am), but the electrodes (E) are arranged such that in each of the segments (A) one or more of the electrodes (E) has an overlapping portion. Beginning with m items of assumed element data (PA1-PAm), an element data configuration unit (22) repeats a process whereby the m items of assumed element data (PA1-PAm) are corrected on the basis of prescribed information determined by the electrode pattern/segment pattern on the operation surface, such that n items of assumed detection data (SA1-SAn), which are calculated on the basis of the prescribed information, approach n items of detection data (S1-Sn) output by an electrostatic capacitance detection unit (12).
