<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly convey printing media, while maintaining soundness of electrical connection between a heating resistor and a drive element. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal print head 10 includes: a ceramic substrate 21 in which a hollow 41 is formed; a glaze layer 22 formed on the surface of the ceramic substrate 21; a resistor 23, wiring 24, and a protective layer 25 stacked on the surface of the glaze layer 22. A gap is formed in a part of the wiring 24 which serves as the heating resistor. The drive element 13 is arranged in the hollow 41. A bonding wire 16 is stretched between the drive element 13 and the wiring 24. The drive element 13 and the bonding wire 16 are sealed with a sealing resin 17.
