发明名称 FRONT DRIVE POWER TRAIN AND SUSPENSION MECHANISM FOR THREE-WHEELED ELECTRIC VEHICLE
摘要 The present invention discloses a front drive power train and suspension mechanism for three-wheeled electric vehicle comprising a fork having a bushing housing welded to the lower portion of said fork and a shock mounting bracket separately welded in the upper portion thereof. Said bushing housing adopted a plurality of rubber bushings to pivotably hold a transmission framing having a bushing bracket welded to middle portion thereof and a shock holder welded to upper portion of said transmission framing. To lessen road shocks during operation, a shock absorber is provided wherein its lower end is securedly bolted to shock holder and the upper end is securedly bolted to said shock mounting bracket. Said transmission framing is provided with an oval shaped adjuster holes cut in front portion thereof for chain slack adjustment. Disposed in the outer side of said adjuster holes is a chain slack adjuster securedly pinned by axle bolt protruding the holes thereof. Securedly bolted to transmission framing is a three-speed automatic type motorcycle transmission modified for this purpose. Said transmission having an input shaft is provided with input sprocket securedly fastened at the end thereof, an output shaft being provided with output sprocket securedly fastened at the end of said output shaft and a gear shift mechanism pivotably mounted to lower side thereof. The initial power is provided by a 24-volt D.C. motor securedly bolted to upper portion of said transmission. Said D.C. motor is provided with a driving sprocket connected by an endless primary chain to said input sprocket. Gear speed selection is made by pushing forward or pulling backward a shifting lever linked by a shift cable to said gear shift mechanism. Said DC motor is provided with a housing which serves as protection thereof. The output power of said transmission is transmitted to a final drive sprocket connected to output sprocket by an endless final chain. Said final drive sprocket is screwably mounted to a hub securedly coupled to the front wheel by said axle bolt. The chain slack of final chain is adjusted through said chain slack adjuster. To protect the power train parts from dirt and debris, a fender is securedly fastened to inner portion of said transmission framing.
