There is described a latch (10) for a seat (1) of a motor vehicle (2), comprising a closing assembly (12) adapted to cooperate with a latch striker (8), and comprising: a ratchet (20) which can assume an opening position, in which it enables engagement and disengagement between latch striker (8) and a seat (16) thereof, and a closing position, in which it holds latch striker (8) within its seat (16) and prevents disengagement thereof; ratchet (20) comprising a first and a second tooth (22, 23) bounding seat (16) on respective opposite sides of seat (16); a pawl (21), which can be coupled with ratchet (20) for keeping it in a releasable way in the closing position and which can be moved away from ratchet (20); and a lever (35) which can be moved between a first position, in which it is coupled with ratchet (20) for blocking it in the closing position, so as to prevent the movement of ratchet towards and away from pawl (21), when ratchet (20) is set in the closing position and a second position in which it is detached from ratchet (20), so as to allow ratchet (20) to assume opening position; lever (35) and pawl (21) cooperate with the same second tooth (23) of ratchet (20), when ratchet (20) is arranged in the closing position. |
