<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid designed suitably to a lock mechanism, which includes a structural member to guide a latch bolt, with a structure that has manufacturing cost and assemblability equivalent to those in the conventional technology, or a structure that can reduce the manufacturing cost or improve the assemblability from the conventional technology. <P>SOLUTION: A plunger 40, a guide pin 41, and a latch bolt 44 are integrated into a single unit, and inserted between a top-side horizontal part 25 and a bottom-side horizontal part 29, with the bottom end of the guide pin 41 being placed inside a slit 26a. A second yoke member 30 is inserted so that a guide part 32a and a guide part 32b come into contact with a step part 23a and a step part 23b, while the plunger 40 being inserted through a spring 43 and through the second yoke member 30.
