<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision determination apparatus that surely discriminates a collision requiring starting of an occupant protection apparatus (for instance, a high-speed offset collision or the like) from a collision not requiring the starting of the occupant protection apparatus (for instance, a low-speed offset collision, low-speed traveling, or traveling on a rough road or the like) and avoids malfunction of the occupant protection apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle collision determination apparatus includes: a vibration detecting means (an acoustic sensor 11 and an acceleration sensor 12) that detects high-frequency vibration in the acoustic band generated in a vehicle 100 in collision and low-frequency vibration in a band lower than the acoustic band; and a collision determination means that determines whether or not a collision requiring starting of an occupant protection apparatus occurs on the basis of the detection results of the high-frequency vibration and the low-frequency vibration. The collision determination means calculates a first calculation value based on the detection result of the high-frequency vibration and calculates a second calculation value based on the detection result of the low-frequency vibration, and determines that a collision occurs when the first calculation value exceeds a threshold set so as to be higher according to an increase in the second calculation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
