The block (1) has semi-blocks (2a, 2b) formed from agglomerated concrete and comprising planar inner faces (4a, 4b) and outer faces (3a, 3b). The semi blocks include expanded clay aggregates. A vacuum insulating panel (5) is placed between the inner faces of semi-blocks and encapsulated in expanded organic foam e.g. polyurethane foam, polyisocyanurate foam or phenolic foam. The inner faces of the semi-blocks are grooved in the shape of slots with acute angles. The panel is placed equidistance from the inner faces. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a thermally insulating construction block. |
