PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover the waste heat of a fixing member and use the waste heat as electric energy and to prevent the heat of the fixing member from being taken away while the fixing member is heated.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a fixing member 22, a heat source 26 heating the fixing member 22, a thermoelectric conversion device 24 converting heat energy generated from the fixing member 22 into the electric energy, a driving mechanism 25 moving the thermoelectric conversion device 24 between a first position and a second position closer to the fixing member 22 than the first position, a control part capable of transmitting a drive command signal to the driving mechanism 25, and a storage part storing the heating target temperature of the fixing member 22. The control part holds the thermoelectric conversion device 24 in the first position, while the heat source 26 heats the fixing member 22 up to the heating target temperature and moves the thermoelectric conversion device 24 from the first position to the second position by the driving mechanism 25, in conjunction with the stopping of the heating of the fixing member 22 by the heat source 26. |
