PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diminish degradation in an assisting ability when an abnormality occurs in both systems.SOLUTION: An electric power steering system includes an assist motor, a first-system drive circuit and second-system drive circuit that are connected in parallel with the assist motor and feed a driving current to the assist motor, plural first conduction paths led to the assist motor via the first-system drive circuit, plural second conduction paths led to the assist motor via the second-system drive circuit, and a control unit. When an abnormality is detected in any of the first conduction paths, if an abnormality is also detected in the second conduction path associated with the first conduction path in which the abnormality is detected, the control unit activates the first-system drive circuit and second-system drive circuit so that conduction of electricity corresponding to a target value higher than a target value concerning an assistive torque can be added and realized over both the first conduction paths devoid of an abnormality among the plural first conduction paths and the second conduction paths associated with the first conduction paths devoid of the abnormality. |
