<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a propeller shaft capable of reducing inner pressure resistance in an internal space at a closure side of a female spline shaft, while preventing dust invasion to a spline fitting section from outside, when the female spline shaft and a male spline shaft are stretched. <P>SOLUTION: In a stretchable propeller shaft 1 with the male spline shaft 4 and the female spline shaft 5 in which the closure 8 for closing the internal space 7 of the spline fitting section is provided in the female spline shaft 5, the closure 8 is formed in a double cover structure including a circular frame body 9 which is fixed to an opening edge of a york side end of the female spline shaft 5, a cup form cover 10 in which a cup bottom face 10a with an air hole 11 faces the inner space 7 of the female spline shaft 5, and a cup opening faces a york side, and a cover plate 12 with a relief valve 13, which is connected to close the cup opening of the cup form cover.
