Provided is an image recording device able to image and record, simply and with high resolution, information in a subject to be imaged, such as a document. A smartphone (S) is internally provided with: a camera (9) the relative position of which to a prescribed position where a document (P) is to be placed is fixed, said camera continuously acquiring images of the prescribed position if no document (P) is placed thereon or images of a document (P) if placed on the prescribed position and outputting corresponding image data for each image acquired; and a central processing unit (CPU) that, on the basis of the output image data, identifies whether the document (P) is placed at the prescribed position and, when the document (P) is identified to be currently placed, captures output image data corresponding to the time of the identification. |
