<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost-efficient thermal head with excellent workability in production, having a heating resistor layer made of glass mainly composed of zinc oxide and formed by calcining a paste containing a conductive substance and a dispersion preventive substance, thereby preventing variation in resistance values of a heating resistor and improving product quality. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head includes: an insulating substrate; an electrode layer formed in a predetermined pattern on the insulating substrate; the heating resistor layer formed on the electrode layer; and a protective layer covering the electrode layer and the heating resistor.
