A hub 1 is secured to a shaft 2 by two tangential keys each comprising two complementary sections 9, 10, the registering faces 11, 12 of which are curved to permit aligning movement. The surface 5 of the hub groove is tangential to the bore and the surface 6 on the shaft is parallel to the surface 5, the surfaces 7, 8 being perpendicular to the tangential surface. One key comprises sections 9, 10 parallel throughout their length and the other key is tapered to lock the assembly. The curved mating surfaces 11, 12 allow for errors in machining the key seatings. |
