The truss 10 comprises first and second elongate outer support members 12, 14 with first and second elongate intermediate support members 16, 18 interposed between them, connecting members 20, 22 interconnecting the outer and intermediate members, and a thermally insulative fastener 24 spacing and fastening the intermediate support members and providing a thermal break between them. There may be a reinforcing metal strap or collar 26 which encircles the fastener and the intermediate members. The fastener may be polystyrene, polyurethane, polyamide or adhesive. The first outer and intermediate members may be offset from the second. Also claimed is a structural building panel comprising at least one insulation member and strapping member, and at least two of the trusses. Also claimed is a truss comprising at least two modular units, each unit including support members defining longitudinal edge portions, a connecting member, a thermally insulative fastener, and a reinforcement element. |
