<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide article storage equipment which makes it unnecessary to increase the height of an article storage shelf in accordance with the elevation height of an elevator, even when lifting the elevator until an article placement surface of a transfer device provided in the elevator reaches a position higher than an article placement surface of the top storage part of the article storage shelf. <P>SOLUTION: An upper rail 6 is arranged above the upper end of the article storage shelf 1 in the state of being supported by an upper support which is provided separately from the article storage shelf 1.
