The measuring apparatus (12) has a signal generation unit (22) for generating a signal indicating liquid level relative to position of float (18) provided in fuel tank (10). A pressure sensor (48) detects the vapor pressure of fuel tank. A temperature sensor (54) detects the temperature of fuel tank. A displacement gage (56) detects the length variation of walls of fuel tank. The signal indicating liquid level is corrected based on detected information regarding temperature, vapor pressure and length variation of fuel tank. An independent claim is included for method for determining liquid level in fuel tank for vehicle. |
