<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To devise a name of a folder where a data file is to be stored, when recording a series of data on an electronic apparatus, such as performance data and setting data on an electronic musical instrument, into a data recording device. <P>SOLUTION: In a data recording system, a plurality of kinds of electronic musical instruments (electronic apparatus) are connected to a data recording device having a storage medium 8M like a USB memory loaded thereto, so as to be able to communicate with the data recording device. The data recording device acquires model IDs (for example, "AAA_100") as identification information representing models of the connected electronic musical instruments from the connected electronic musical instruments, creates folder names (for example, "AA_xxx" ("xxx" is a song name designated by a user)) corresponding to the acquired model IDs and creates folders FL (FL1, FL2, and the like) having the created folder names given thereto in the storage medium 8M.
