<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in throughput of reading, by suppressing the occurrence of a memory error. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader comprises: a CIS 30 for reading an image of a document; a RAM 63 for storing read data read by the CIS 30; a blank determination part 60A, which executes blank determination processing for determining blank data from the read data stored in the RAM 63; a deletion part 60A, which when the usage of the RAM 63 amounts to a limit amount or more, deletes the determined blank data from the RAM; and a control part 60A, which after the deletion of the blank data controls the CIS 30 to keep the reading of the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
