Aside from a printer and an operating method, the invention relates to a device for detecting torque for an electric motor drive for winding a printer belt about a driveshaft (8) rotated by a transmission means thanks to a motor shaft driven by an electric motor (1), the transmission means comprising at least two rotatable wheels with peripheral gears. According to the invention, the transmission means comprises at least one planet gear (3, 3', 3a, 3b, 3'a, 3'b) translatably movable relative to another so-called geared wheel (4, 6) with which it meshes and which is stationary, said planet gear moving in parallel to the periphery of the geared wheel, said planet gear being connected to a stationary point of the device by resilient return means (5) for bringing the movable planet gear back into a predetermined rest position in the absence of motor torque or, when motor torque is present, the belt freely runs without resistance, said movable wheel leaving said rest position when a resistance of the belt to winding is present, said device further comprising a means (7) for detecting the translatable movement of the planet gear. |
