PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanocomposite material and production method thereof by combining features of a carbon nanohorn or carbon nanotube and features of a metal oxide to take their advantages to the utmost extent, paying attention to carbon nanohorn and carbon nanotube, which are nanocarbon materials, and studying in an effort to develop materials added of new functions by using the features of nanocarbon materials and remedying shortcomings of metal oxides.SOLUTION: This nanocomposite material includes a nanocarbon filler comprising carbon nanohorn or a mixture of carbon nanohorn and carbon nanotube in a range of 0.1-80 wt.%, and a crystalline or amorphous metal oxide matrix in a range of 99.9-20 wt.%. The nanocomposite material is produced by a mixing step of mixing the nanocarbon filler and the metal oxide matrix; a molding step of making the mixture into a molded body; and a sintering step of sintering the molded body at a high temperature, and as needed, under high pressure. |
