In a hybrid vehicle on which an electrical-type continuously variable transmission mechanism with a sequential shift mode is mounted, during regenerative operation where an accelerator is turned off, the current driving force and the driving force after gear shifting are compared with each other. In the case where the difference between these driving forces is equal to or more than a predetermined value, a gear shift instruction is not performed and then both of a shift-up lamp and a shift-down lamp of a gear-shift instruction device are turned off. This avoids degradation in drivability by performing gear shifting in accordance with a gear shift instruction. |
