<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that can avoid the occurrence of a secondary failure of a recording head when an abnormal result is read by an encoder. <P>SOLUTION: A recording apparatus includes: a drive control means 11 that applies a voltage to a motor driving a carriage to be moved in a specific direction; an abnormality detection means 12 where a linear scale is provided in the carriage to detect a position in a specific direction of the carriage and a moving speed, and which detects the abnormal result read by the encoder; a home position drive control means 13 that applies a constant voltage to the motor and moves the carriage to a home position when the failure is detected; and an abnormality control means 15 that stops the application of the voltage to the motor and performs control so that a user is notified of the abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
