A power supply comprising: a primary regulator with a first frequency response and a first output; a secondary regulator with a faster frequency response than said first frequency response and a second output; wherein said second output is coupled in parallel with said first output through a capacitor to provide a combined output; wherein said primary regulator in a steady state provides all current at said combined output, and wherein said secondary regulator only provides a supplemental current to said combined output when a voltage at said combined output falls to a lower transient value; and wherein a voltage on said capacitor in steady state depends on at least in part on a voltage level at said combined output.
