PROCESS FOR SEPARATING SOLIDS FROM BIOMASS

The invention relates to processing of lignocellulosic biomass. This disclosure describes providing techniques to separate suspended solids from liquid with dissolved solids in a process stream that contains lignocellulosic biomass. This disclosure describes a method for adding a chemical to the process stream in which the chemical induces flocculation to occur with suspended solids. The process separates the suspended solids formed in flocs by using a dewatering device. This creates a liquid with dissolved solids stream and suspended solids for furthering processing.
