1. A patching apparatus for plywood veneer, the apparatus comprising:
a detection device for detecting and locating defect points in the veneer; two or more stationary patching units, each patching unit having a punch and a patch inserter; and at least two holding devices configured for holding and conveying the veneer in advancing and transversal directions of a veneer sheet, controlled by the detection device, wherein the two or more patching units are positioned to locate substantially in a middle of the apparatus in the advancing direction of the veneer sheet.
