PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which reduces consumption of toner while providing a clear view of an object within a printed image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: an edge detector 32 for detecting an edge within an image to be printed; a contour extractor 33 for extracting the contour of the object from the edge detected by the edge detector 32; and a density inverter 34 which, if the average density inside of the contour extracted by the contour extractor 33 is higher than a predetermined density, inverts the contrast in an area inside of the contour. |
