<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of chlorine bypass exhaust gas, by which a coating trouble in a cement kiln or the like can be avoided, heat loss in a preheater or the like can be prevented, reduction in the clinker production amount of a cement kiln can be suppressed and the cost of treating waste water can be decreased. <P>SOLUTION: The treatment method is applied on an extracted gas G4 from which chlorine bypass dust is recovered, the extracted gas being discharged from a chlorine bypass system 1 of extracting a part G of combustion gas while cooling from a kiln exhaust gas flow passage that runs from an inlet of a cement kiln 2 to a lowermost stage cyclone, and recovering chlorine bypass dust D5 from extracted gas G2, G3. The recovered chlorine bypass dust is prepared into a slurry by adding water in an amount 5 times or more and 20 times or less of the mass of the chlorine bypass dust; and the slurry S1 is brought into contact with the extracted gas after the chlorine bypass dust is recovered to desulfurize the extracted gas.
