<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that allows designation of a selection region in an image while the imaging device is supported without inconvenience, and a control method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises region selection means 180 that generates a selection region in an image obtained by imaging means 110 in accordance with an instruction from region selection instruction means 170.
