PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical heat storage device capable of arranging a heater by utilizing a space inside piping effectively.SOLUTION: A chemical heat storage device which heats a heating object in an exhaust system of an engine includes: a heater 11 comprising a plurality of base units 20(20,20,20) arranged inside piping 8 in which an exhaust gas exhausted from the engine flows; a storage for storing a reaction medium; and a connection pipe 13 for circulating the reaction medium between the heater 11 and the storage. The base unit 20 has: a heat generation part having a heat storage medium for performing heat generation by a chemical reaction with the reaction medium and desorption of the reaction medium by heat storage in a reversible manner; and a heat exchange part for performing heat exchange between the heat generation part and the heating object.
