PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition having negative dielectric anisotropy, which achieves excellent display characteristics when used for a liquid crystal display element without degrading various characteristics as a liquid crystal display element such as dielectric anisotropy, viscosity, maximum temperature of a nematic phase, stability of the nematic phase at low temperature, and γ, and without degrading an image persistence characteristic of the display element, and a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises at least one compound selected from a group of compounds represented by general formula (1) as a first component, and at least one compound selected from a group of compounds represented by general formula (2) as a second component.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
