PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for further increasing cycle durability against hundreds of cycles, which is required in the case of using, as a power source for an electric motor vehicle, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery arranged in the form of a laminate battery having an electrolytic solution containing an electrode protectant.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery system comprises: a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery arranged by sealing, in an outer sheath, a power-generating element having unit cell layers each including a positive electrode including a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode active material layer formed on the surface of the positive electrode collector, a negative electrode including a negative electrode collector and a negative electrode active material layer formed on the surface of the negative electrode collector, and a separator for holding an electrolytic solution together with the electrolytic solution containing an electrode protectant so that an excess space is present in the outer sheath; pressure-applying means for applying an external pressure to the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery; SOC-calculation means for calculating SOC of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery; and control means for controlling the pressure-applying means based on SOC calculated by the SOC calculation means to regulate the external pressure. The control means lowers the external pressure when the SOC reaches a predetermined value or less in discharging the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
